I am thrilled to announce that Piñatas Bonitas will be joining IMMERSE Orlando 2026! Im so excited to work with the talented artists of The City Beautiful in this incredible project.
IMMERSE Orlando is an epic performance and interactive art festival in the heart of downtown Orlando.
IMMERSE yourself in 10 city blocks filled with hundreds of live performances, immersive art installations, and unexpected creative experiences.
In 2025 Piñatas Bonitas by Rebecca Weinel created the Nicho Box also known as shadow boxes are small skeleton-filled everyday scenes of daily life, seen on Dia de los Muertos the Mexican celebration of the dead. Guests stepped into a life size Nicho Box and celebrate with influential Mexican artists.
This year Piñatas Bonitas will be presenting a portable installation. The Elote Cart! Is a large roaming piñata that will be serving candy and flowers. This project once a nod to hard working individuals that support their families, has become so much more. The horrific attacks on my home of Minnesota have left myself and others heartbroken and enraged. But also so incredibly proud of the strength and resilience of Minneapolis. It is our responsibility to make Mexican American Art. The Elote Cart is here to serve messages of love and bring joy to our community during this difficult time.
