DICKENS ON THE DECK

2022 Holiday season StageNorth theater of Washburn, Wisconsin produced their second annual live outdoor production titled Dickens On The Deck.

An abridged version of Charles Dickens classic play, A Christmas Carol. Adapted by Howard Dallin and John Thomas. Theater patrons were invited to watch the performance for free, from the comfort of their vehicles much like a drive-in movie theater. As actors braved the negative temperatures of lake Superior, members of the community listened from their car radios or by the heat of a roaring fire. 

 

The second production of Dickens on the Deck was an exciting experience. When the director suddenly left the project, I happily took on the roll of Director as well as producer. After all the show must go on. With the help of The Groundlings theater troop and our lovely volunteers we were able to put on a spectacular Christmas show. With over 200 cars and 900 visitors that came to see the outdoor performance. Another memorable Holiday season at StageNorth Theater.
